During my travels I have had several opportunities to visit many Art Museums, Art Exhibits, and experience a wide variety of art and art culture.  Although I do not have space to list all of them, I will try to put in several important experiences from these visits.

Museums, Galleries & Art Experiences:

Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha Nebraska.  Robert Bateman Exhibit.  I was truly impressed at the level of craftsmanship and realism in each of his works.  I can remember looking at the images thinking the animals could walk right out of the frame.

University of Nebraska, Art Museum.  Lincoln, Nebraska   I do not know the artist but they had made paper grocery sacks out of ceramics and it took me four or five looks to tell if they were just paper or really ceramics.

National Museum of Art, Washington D.C.   & National Museum of Art: Modern Art, Washington D.C. These two fine museums are adjacent in their setting, across from each other. The national museum is a traditional/classical architecture approach where as the modern art museum is a modem approach. I recommend going to both whether pursing art or just visiting D.C.

Air & Space Museum, (on the Mall) Washington, D.C.  I will forever remember the Mural at the entrance of the Museum!  I was so amazed at how a person could paint something so real, so dynamic, and so large!

Air & Space Museum, (at the Airport) Washington, D.C.

Gilrod Art Museum, Charleston S.C.   This was first experience in seeing actual Japanese Woodcut prints.  I was studying Printmaking under Prof. Barbara Duval at the College of Charleston at the time.  I made my first woodcut shortly after the exhibit.

Brookgreen Gardens, Myrtle Beach S.C.  I was amazed at the diversity of sculptures and range of artists.  I was inspired to begin bronze casting again.

High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA.  Jacob Lawrence Exhibit, Louvre Exhibit, Valentines Day Paris Exhibit.

Seattle Glass Museum, Seattle, WA.

Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham, AL.

Modern Museum of Art, New York, N.Y.   Many of the artists I had examined from textbooks and slides were right there in front of me!  Dali, Monet, Van Gogh…!

Guggenheim Museum, New York, N.Y.  Firstly, I was excited to be experiencing a Frank Lloyd Wright work of Architecture! One of the pillars in my architecture dreams!  Secondly, I was impressed at the range of Art inside!

Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, New York.  Each area of the museum was amazing.  I was excited to enter a Frank Lloyd Wright Living room, the Japanese Samurai Exhibit, the Medieval Armor (Equestrian Armor & Knights), The Modern Sculpture and thousands of Paintings!

British Museum, London, England.  Albrecht Duhrer Prints, and I was honored to have a special visit to the Printmaking Archives section to see several famous mezzotints!

Duxford Air Museum & War Museum, London England.

Tower of London, London England.  The Crown Jewels were amazing!  I also loved the Ravens!
